Collection, processing and use of personal data
Ravensburger collects personal data when you use certain options or services on our websites, especially for processing contracts (see “Registration” below), or when you enter competitions to win prizes.
When you use our contact forms, we ask you for your name, email address, age, gender and place of residence. In each case, we know your identity after we receive this information.
Additionally, Ravensburger automatically collects and saves on our server logs the information about you that your browser transfers to us. This includes in particular your IP address and the pages you have accessed. When you use various options and services, additional information is deposited in cookies. Your personal data and user data is stored in our customer database.
Ravensburger only uses the data collected for purposes permitted according to the following regulations.
When you open your personal customer account (first registration), we require at least your email address, your first and surnames, your title and a user name that you select yourself.
After you have opened a customer account, you can use the same login data to access the online shop at www.myravensburger.com, the online ticket shop at www.spieleland.de or www.ravensburger-tickets.de, and the Ravensburger Communities as well as Ravensburger online games pages (in as far as customer accounts are required for this), however you cannot access the customer accounts on the pages operated by Ravensburger Digital GmbH.
If you want to shop in our online shop, we also require further personal data to process your orders, in particular your address.
You can at any time withdraw your consent to the use of your data in the future here. However, this does not apply to the data required for the processing of any orders already placed. After receipt of your withdrawal of consent, we will no longer use the data in question. Please note that you must register again to use our online shop and to receive newsletters or advertising material.
If you consent to receive information about products, special offers and other news from the Ravensburger Group, your data will be used – after you again confirm your consent – for advertising purposes in the form of newsletters, mails, and print adverts.
In the context of our newsletter and other advertising, we would like to offer you an additional service. If you agree, we will customise these materials to you and your individual interests to constantly improve our promotional efforts and make using our website an even better experience for you. We will use this option as soon as you agree to the receipt of newsletters, mails, and print advertising.
To do this, we will save data from your orders or from any of our surveys you have taken part in. You benefit because we can send you for instance information on our products or services that are of special interest to you or invite you to take part in activities such as prize competitions or product tests.
Naturally, we only supply this service after you have given us your express consent in advance. When you have agreed to the use of your personal data for advertising and market research purposes, we will use your personal data for the aforementioned purposes. You give your consent to this when you agree to receive our newsletter by actively ticking a box and confirming your choice. Of course we only use your data in compliance with the valid statutory data protection regulations.
You can withdraw your consent to receiving our customised newsletters and mails and to the use of your data for advertising and market research purposes at any time. In your newsletter you will find a link you can use to withdraw your consent. Alternatively, you can withdraw your consent here. With this withdrawal, you cancel both your consent to the receipt of information about products, special offers and other news from the Ravensburger Group, as well as your consent to the use of your personal data for advertising and market research purposes.
You do not have to accept cookies to use the Ravensburger websites. However, please note that you can only shop in the Ravensburger online shop with activated cookies (shopping basket function).
Cookies and flash cookies are files we save on your hard disk. There are two types of cookies; session cookies that are deleted as soon as you close your browser, and permanent cookies that are saved on your hard disk for a longer or unlimited period. Cookies make navigation easier and ensure you don't have to enter all your registration data again each time you use the website. Cookies help us to accurately tailor our services to customer wishes and to make your Ravensburger online experience as comfortable as possible.
Our cookies only provide us with information without a direct link to your person, for instance what pages in our shop you have visited, or which products you have looked at.
We also show you the products you viewed last, along with other product recommendations. This interest-related advertising is based on the anonymised analysis of your user behaviour on our sites using corresponding cookies.
We also use re-targeting technologies to make our website content even more interesting for you. Based on your surfing behaviour and the products you view on Ravensburger websites, we can also show you interesting offers and information on our partners' websites. This type of advertising relies on cookie technology plus analysis of previous usage behaviour in anonymised form, i.e. without saving personal data or linking user profiles with your personal usage data.
The following cookies are used when you visit Ravensburger Group websites.
You can prevent the cookies from being saved on your hard disk, for instance by choosing “Do not accept cookies” in your browser settings. To find out in detail how to do this, read the instructions of your browser provider. However, if you do not accept cookies, this may cause restrictions in the functions of our services.
To collect statistical data about the use of our online services and to optimise them correspondingly, we may use the services of Webtrekk GmbH, Boxhagenerstr. 76-78, D-10245 Berlin. This company collects and evaluates anonymised information that your browser provides when you visit our websites. That includes for instance the internet browser and operating system you use, the number of visits, average duration of visit, or number of pages viewed. You can opt out of this web tracking by Webtrekk GmbH for the future by clicking here on the “Webtrekk Opt Out” link.
Webtrekk Opt Out
This installs a cookie with the name webTrekkOptOut. However, please note that the opt-out is only valid as long as this cookie remains in your browser. If you delete your cookie memory, you automatically delete the “webTrekkOptOut” cookie.
On this website, data for optimisation is collected and saved using tracking technology from explido WebMarketing GmbH & Co. KG (http://www.explido.de/).
This data, in the form of small text files saved locally in the cache memory of your internet browser, does not include personal data.
It is not used for personal identification, but can only be used to compile anonymous user profiles. For the in-depth data protection code of explido WebMarketing GmbH & Co KG, click here: www.actionallocator.de/privacy .
You can at any time prevent data collection and saving by enabling your browser's “Do not track” option. To find out in detail how to do this, read the instructions of your browser provider.
Google Analytics, Conversion Tracking and Remarketing
For this website, we use various services provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). We'd like to explain them to you below. You can access Google's data protection declaration at http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
We use the web analysis service Google Analytics, which applies a specific type of cookie – text files saved on your computer that enable an analysis of your use of the website. Usually, the information on your use of this website generated by the cookie is saved to a Google server in the USA. We wish to point out that on this website, Google Analytics has been supplemented by the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” to ensure anonymised recording of IP addresses (known as IP masking). Your IP address is anonymised on this website, and Google only uses it in truncated form within the territory of the EU or the member states of the European Economic Area. Google uses this information to analyse your visit to the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide other services associated with use of the website and the internet. Google may also pass this information on to third parties if this is legally required or if these third parties process the data on behalf of Google. Under no circumstances will Google link your IP address with other data from Google. You can choose settings in your browser software to prevent cookies being installed for Google Analytics; however we must point out that you may then not be able to fully use all our functions. You can at any time disallow data collection and storage for Google Analytics for the future using a browser-plugin from Google.
As an AdWords customer, we also use Google Conversion Tracking, an analysis service from Google. Google Adwords sends a cookie (“conversion cookie”) to your computer if you have reached our website via a Google ad. These cookies expire after 30 days and do not identify you personally. If you visit certain of our pages while the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can see that somebody has clicked on the ad and been directed to our website in this way. Every AdWords customer receives a different cookie. This means cookies cannot be traced via the websites of AdWords customers. The information obtained with conversion cookies is used to compile conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have chosen conversion tracking. The AdWords customers find out the total number of users who have clicked on their ad and been redirected to a site with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can personally identify users. If you want to opt out of this tracking function, you can disallow the saving of the necessary cookie – for instance with a browser setting that generally disables the automatic storage of cookies. You can also disable cookies for conversion tracking by altering your browser settings so that cookies from the domain googleadservices.com are blocked.
Facebook social plugins
On some of our websites, Ravensburger uses social plugins. A plugin is a software that is “plugged in” to another software product to extend that product's functionality.
Ravensburger has included facebook.com social plugins on its websites. This social network is provided by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. Social plugins from facebook.com are clearly identifiable either by the Facebook logo or the notice “Social plugin from Facebook”. The “Like” button integrated in our websites is an example of a social plugin.
If you access one of our websites with an integrated Facebook plugin, a link to the Facebook servers is created. This transfers the same data from your computer to Facebook that would be transferred if you were visiting facebook.com itself. This applies even if you don't have a Facebook account and don't click on the “Like” button. This data includes in particular:
- IP address
- Browser version and operating system
- Visitor origin if you have followed a link
- Screen resolution
- Plugins installed (e.g. Flash or Adobe Reader)
- URL of the website linked to the “Like” button.
If you are logged in to Facebook as a member at the time, Facebook allocates this information to your personal Facebook user account. The same applies when you use the social plugin functions, e.g. by clicking on the “Like” button. This information is allocated to your Facebook user account in the same way. You can avoid this by logging out of Facebook before you use our websites. You can also completely prevent loading of Facebook plugins with add-ons for your browser, e.g. with the Facebook blocker available at http://webgraph.com/resources/facebookblocker.

We obtain this information through creditPass from Bürgel Wirtschaftsinformation GmbH & Co. KG, Post box 500166, D-22701 Hamburg. - An official or court order demands this transfer
- In as far as a transfer of data is necessary to prevent – in a legally permitted way – misuse of our offers or services, especially use in violation of the Ravensburger General Terms and Conditions of Trade, or special conditions of use.
Period of storage
We only store personal data you have provided to us for as long as it fulfils the purpose for which you provided it, or until you have withdrawn your agreement to our use of the data. If periods of storage required by commercial or tax-related regulations must be observed, this means that certain data may have to be stored for up to 10 years.
Your rights, information
If you no longer agree to the storage of your personal data or if this data is no longer correct, please notify us and we will delete, block or revise individual data or your customer account in as far as possible under valid law. To do this, please click here.
At your request, we will inform you free of charge about all the personal data we have stored about you.
Ravensburger makes every effort to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, non-permitted access, publication, alteration or destruction. Your data is protected by a password to ensure confidentiality and security.
Amendments to this data protection declaration
Ravensburger reserves the right to amend this data protection declaration in the future. Should Ravensburger use your personal data in a way other than that stated at the time of compilation of this data protection declaration, we will attempt to notify you by email using the most recent information known to us. Should you not have given us permission to contact you, you will not be notified, nor will we use your personal data in a new way. However, we will in any case publish a notification to this effect in the form of a highlighted message on the Ravensburger website.
