Questions about photo selection

  • Please make sure that your image is not blurred or out of focus, as this can have a negative effect on the quality of your photo product.
  • The image should not be too dark. An image will always appear darker when printed than on a screen. This is because the image on the screen is lit from behind.
  • Light, bright colours are easier to make a jigsaw with than dark, matte colours. A design with as many different colours as possible also makes a jigsaw easier. For my Painting by Numbers, however, there should not be too many small details in the picture (e.g. individual portraits are better suited than group photos). Please take a look at our tips and tricks.
Please use image files in *.jpg or *.jpeg format. Please note that the image file size must not exceed 50 MB. The .jpg format image must use an RGB colour palette. Image files from digital cameras generally feature an RGB colour palette.
We recommend the highest possible resolution. For example, a resolution of 300 dpi is ideal for a photo jigsaw, however a print can also be made with a lower resolution. However, we recommend at least 150 dpi. In the questions and answers about the products section, you can find out more about the individual requirements. Please note that a picture must be at least 400 x 400 pixels to be uploaded.
With a Windows PC: To display the resolution of your image file on your computer, open the corresponding file folder in Windows Explorer. Right click on the selected image file. Select “Properties,” then “Details” to see the height and width of your image in pixels, as well as the current image resolution.
In theory, they can be used. However, the image file is significantly reduced in size when sent via WhatsApp and the image quality can suffer as a result. We therefore recommend that you do not use images sent via WhatsApp for a photo jigsaw or my Painting by Numbers.
To create my Ravensburger products from your image, you must own the necessary rights to the image. Ravensburger reserves the right to reject any transferred images if the image does not meet the technical requirements referred to above, if it contains content that infringes or relates to Ravensburger’s branding without authorisation, or infringes the rights of third parties or any legal requirements. Further details can be found in our Terms and Conditions of business.
